Take A Golf Vacation In Orlando This Winter
by Joseph L. Taylor

For many golfers in the northern part of the United States, getting a chance to hit some golf balls is just not possible. Fortunately taking a plane ride to Florida is not as expensive as going overseas, and there is nothing like going from frozen golf courses that are covered in snow to lush green fairways that are ready for the anxious hacker.

Orlando has a beautiful and state of the art airport that starts your trip towards the Central Florida area. Finding discounts on area golf courses is very possible, and not uncommon. Get on the internet and check out websites like golfnow.com and you will find many deals for the local golf links.

Disney World is located in Lake Buena Vista and they have their 18 holes courses and 9 hole walking course. You can visit and see what Disney has to offer with out even visiting one of the theme parks. This will give you a chance to check out the world famous amusement park in case you want to head there on one of your non-golfing days

For the cold weather golfer, any course will be fine, and when you put on your shorts and golf shoes, and get a chance to feel the refreshing sunshine, this will lift your spirits and make any round of golf a good one whether you shoot under par or many shots over. With so many courses and price options available to visiting golfer, you can understand why so many visitors head to the Orlando area for their winter vacations

You can get the current golf rates for many of the courses by going online or calling the pro shop ahead of time to see what tee times are available. Once you visit Florida in the Winter for the first time, you may find that you might just be going every year.

Product Description:
A part of MT III Golf Media's Black Book series of national and regional course guidebooks, The Southeast Florida Golf Guide profiles every golf course in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties, from the ritziest private clubs to the smallest nine-hole par 3. Continuing the series’ tradition of providing accurate, detailed and candid assessments, its profiles range from 100-400 words and also include complete contact information, a course's current national/state ranking(s) and a unique five-star Collectability Rating - a course rating method entirely exclusive to the Guide. No other guidebook covers the region so candidly or comprehensively, or with so detailed an eye towards a course’s history and design evolution. Thus also something of a reference volume for historians and architectural aficionados, The Southeast Florida Golf Guide is an indispensable source of information for both visitors and local residents alike.

Product Description:
Florida offers more than a thousand accessible and affordable golf courses, which attract more than two million golfers every year. Moore’s guide to 60 golfing venues in the Sunshine State caters to all budgets by featuring public courses, semi-private clubs where daily-fee players are welcome, and resorts that offer on-site accommodations.
Moore explores each course’s character—from its architect, design, and history to an analysis of each hole, including advice on drive and approach shots and helpful observations on hazards and putting surfaces. Arranged in four geographical sections with maps showing course locations and featuring 100 black-and-white and 20 color photographs, this guide includes detailed directions allowing easy access from the nearest interstates and other major roads. Moore also includes current green fees, phone numbers, and Web sites, as well as yardage and course and slope ratings for blue and red tees.
As a bonus, Moore directs golfers to places of history—such as the course where Jack Nicklaus once carded a 7 and the 1920s resort where Johnny Weissmuller was a lifeguard. Both the recreational golfer and the keen student of the sport will find Florida’s Fairways a handy, richly informative, and enjoyable guide.

Product Description:
Florida has depended on tourism since the earliest days of American ownership. Entrepreneurs, scoundrels, and visionaries flocked to the Sunshine State to take advantage of the natural resources—land, water, climate, natural beauty, flora, and fauna—to implement their schemes and dreams. The majority of these schemes depended on convincing individuals from northern states to invest in their projects or to vacation in the state. One of the attractions was golf. Every Florida resort of note included a golf course, and golf became the major attraction for winter visitors and part-time residents. This book provides a brief history of golf in Florida, focuses on the men who designed the courses, and provides a guide to the resorts that catered to the game.
