The Hershey Resort
in Hershey, Pennsylvania,
like the town in which it is located, is named after Milton S. Hershey.
The resort was first opened
as "Hershey Park" in
1907.
Milton S. Hershey is of course famous as the founder of The Hershey Chocolate Company,
and this is reflected in the resort.
The Hershey Resort is home to the HersheyPark amusement park (including
over 60 rides and attractions, including 10 roller coasters, 6 water rides,
and more than 20 kid rides), the Hershey Museum, Hershey's Chocolate World,
a theatre, shopping, a spa, a zoo ("ZOOAMERICA") and more. There
is also plenty for golfers to enjoy including 63 holes of golf at
three championship courses (including two 18-hole courses at the Hershey Country Club
designed by George Fazio and Maurice McCarthy).
Visitors to the resort can stay at the Hotel Hershey, the Hershey Lodge or the
Hershey Highmeadow Campground.
